There are over 2,000 species of termites in the world, but only 50 species are found in the United States. They all fall into one of three categories: drywood termites, dampwood termites, and subterranean termites. Florida has them all, but you’re most likely to have a subterranean infestation. Our Complete Termite Package treats for both drywood and subterranean termites. We also offer these services separately.
Drywood termites make their nests in dry, non-decayed wood. They require less moisture than other species, so they can travel above ground without dehydrating. This lets them easily infest your entire home, including the attic, wooden support beams, and hardwood flooring. When we are dealing with drywood termites, we treat the wood in the attic with borate and then inject termiticide foam into the walls to prevent termites form returning.
Subterranean termites live underground, but they can still travel. They create mud tubes that protect them from the hot sun and keep them from drying out. They’re drawn to wood that’s touching the ground but will use the mud tubes to climb your home’s foundation and infest the wooden supports. We use Trelona bait stations to treat subterranean termites.
Dampwood termites live places with a high moisture content, like wood that’s on the ground or near standing water. They’re commonly found in fence posts, sheds, and fallen trees. While it’s less likely, they can also infest your home.
As a locally-owned business, we’re always willing to go the extra mile and help our neighbors achieve pest-free homes. We’re proud to service areas throughout Central Florida, including:
